Much more than a by-product of the aluminothermic chrome production process, the chrome alumina produced in our operation has uses across many manufacturing industries and infrastructure. Its resistance to extremely high temperatures and high hardness make it an ideal material for use in furnace linings for steelmaking and casting operations, road surfacing and abrasive coatings. It is available from AMG Chrome in both block and crushed form.

Sizes available:

  • Blocks (approx. 3.2t each)
  • 10x5mm
  • 5x3mm
  • 3x1mm
  • 2.8×0.5mm
  • 1x0mm
  • 1×0.5mm
  • 0.5x0mm
  • Superfines

Our alumina can be used in a diverse range of applications, including:

  • Electric arc furnace roofs
  • Refractory linings in steelmaking and casting
  • Grinding wheels
  • Industrial flooring
  • Road surfacing

In addition to supplying the market, a proportion of the chrome alumina generated is recycled within our own process as a vessel lining for new chrome reactions, thus enhancing AMG Chrome’s reputation for sustainability.
