London & Scandinavian Metallurgical Co. Limited (LSM) is formed in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England as a metal alloy production facility, with production commencing in 1940.

1950s

1986
LSM wins Queen’s award for export.

1990s
LSM develops low nitrogen special de-gassed chrome.

1997
Safeguard International acquires the assets of Metallurg, Inc., which include LSM and ALPOCO
New exothermic chrome manufacturing plant is commissioned at LSM.

2006
AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group N.V. (AMG) is formed by Safeguard International.

2007
AMG N.V., listed in Amsterdam, becomes a publicly traded company listed on the Euronext Stock Exchange.

2008
LSM launches its high purity degassed (HPD) briquette product to the market.

2013
LSM celebrates its 75th anniversary and receives the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade
LSM is renamed AMG Superalloys UK Limited

2019
AMG purchases International Speciality Alloys in New Castle, PA and AMG Chrome US LLC is formed at that facility for the production of ultra low sulphur (ULS) degassed chrome briquettes.

2022
AMG Superalloys is renamed AMG Chrome Limited.

2023
AMG Chrome acquires EN9100:2018 accreditation as a critical materials supplier into the aerospace industry.

2023
AMG Critical Materials N.V. is formed.
